Ford Racing Developing I-4 and V-6 Engine Swap Kits
Ford's popular EcoBoost and Mustang V-6 to become next hot crate engine offerings! Check out the blog for details and more!
We have exciting news from our friends at Ford Racing. With the extremely popular Coyote 5.0L crate engine and matching Control Pack wiring system becoming a top seller for street rods, kit cars, vintage muscle, and even Fox and SN-95 engine swaps the gear heads at Ford Racing are ramping up crate engines and Control Pack wiring systems for Ford's latest I-4 and V-6 offerings, including the 335HP EcoBoost twin-turbo 3.5L V-6 (as found in the Taurus SHO, F-150, and Flex AWD) and the 305HP 3.7L NA V-6 currently in the '11-'13 Mustang.
What this means is if you're looking to upgrade that tired 3.8L V-6 in your late-model Mustang, or want modern reliability, power, and efficiency without the fitment issues of a modular V-8 swap, then these hot little engines could become the next big swap sensation. Imagine, an SVO heritage build with the new 2.0L EcoBoost four-cylinder. Or perhaps upgrade that SN-95 V-6 with the new Mustang's 305HP V-6 backed with a six-speed for 30 plus miles per gallon efficiency!
The exact quote we got from Ford Racing is below and look for more details as we get them!
"We are working on engine and install kits for the 2.0L, 2.0L turbo, 3.5L twin-turbo, and 3.7L. The engine kits will include the accessory drive, and then a separate easy-install wiring kit like we do on the 4.6L 3V, 5.0L, and GT500 engines. Availability and timing should be available by PRI of this year (early Dec.-Ed.).-Ford Racing Performance Parts
