Back in July, Timothy Millard received a phone call telling him that he had won two Shelby Mustangs as the winner of the Mustang Dream Giveaway.
“I thought someone was pulling my leg,” he said after learning that he was the new owner of a ’67 GT500 and a 750hp ’12 GT500, the grand prize package for the Mustang Dream Giveaway, a nationwide drawing sponsored by WorldCause Foundation. Millard will also received $50,000 to help pay the prize taxes.
Millard, along with his wife and son, accepted his prize at an awards ceremony on Sunday, August 12, at Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan, during the annual Mustang Memories Car Show. The keys to the ’67 Shelby GT500 were presented by Kevin Marti, president of Marti Auto Works. The keys to the ’12 Shelby GT500 were handed to Millard by Michael Bannister, CEO Ford Motor Credit, and Jamal Hameedi, Chief Engineer for Ford’s Special Vehicle Team.
Millard, from Jacksonville, Florida, entered the 2012 Mustang Dream Giveaway on May 25, 2012, by making a tax-deductible donation to WorldCause Foundation. “I had received a brochure for the Mustang Dream Giveaway in NRA’s American Rifleman magazine,” Millard said. “Being a former Air Force Veteran, I felt a connection to some of the wonderful charities this giveaway benefitted, which is why I decided to make a donation.”
The 2013 Mustang Dream Giveaway begins on October 1 and runs through July 4, 2013, although the giveaway Mustangs have not yet been announced. You can donate and enter the sweepstakes by visiting www.winthemustangs.com.
