Retired Ford chassis engineer Mat Donner passed away on Sunday, April 29. He was 89.
Donner spent much of his career working on Mustang suspensions in the 1960s. He is credited with developing the handling of the ’69-’70 Boss 302, as noted in the original and revised versions of Mustang Boss 302: From Racing Legend to Modern Muscle Car.
Last summer, Donner attended the Boss Reunion during the Mustang Memories show in Dearborn where he was treated as a celebrity.
He is survived by daughter Carol Holly and son Michael.
