The Mustang Club of America has revealed its plans to celebrate the Mustang’s 50th anniversary in 2014.

Incorporating the Mustang’s actual anniversary date of April 17, the Mustang 50th Anniversary Celebration will take place on April 16-20, 2014, at two locations – Lowes Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC, and Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Nevada. It will be the first time that a Mustang milestone anniversary has been celebrated at two different locations.

Event director Ron Bramlett, along with other MCA officers, made the announcement in a video presentation on the MCA website, www.mustang.org. Ford Motor Company will be a major sponsor for both sites.

No other details have been released, other than the fact that the MCA will organize a number of Pony Trails cruises from different parts of the country so Mustang owners can caravan to the events.

Rumors are also circulating that Ford will stage a separate Mustang 50th Anniversary celebration in Dearborn over the July 4, 2014, weekend

The MCA hosted the Mustang 30th, 35th, 40th, and 45th anniversary events.

The Mustang was introduced at the New York World’s Fair on April 17, 1964.
