Traction Action

During hard driving, early Mustangs can experience “wheel-hop” when down-shifting and braking at the same time. To reduce the wheel-hop, Cobra Automotive now offers these spring-loaded rods, similar to the over-ride traction bars used on ’65 Shelbys.

With a compression spring to dampen deceleration wheel-hop, the rod-end mounting points also allow body “roll” during cornering to create a more neutral feel while not affecting the roll center of the car. The rods are available as a direct replacement for early Shelbys, or as a complete kit with all brackets and hardware for Mustangs.

Made from aircraft aluminum, the bars offer a huge improvement over the stock steel Shelby bars that use rubber bushings and no dampening springs.
