Crane Cams Is Back And Better Than Ever

Crane Cams spent 2010 rebuilding its manufacturing facilities and inventory, which means a new Crane Cams that is better than it has ever been in its history.

At the SEMA MPMC conference in Los Angeles recently, we had the good fortune of meeting with Chase Knight and Sean Holly of Crane Cams.  Sean is Crane's general manager.  Chase, with more than 40 years of experience in the industry, is Crane's valvetrain product manager and a long time friend of ours.  We've looked to Chase more times than we can remember for solid technical advice and information.  He has never failed us in our 33 year history.

As most of you probably know, Crane Cams quit business and liquidated more than a year ago - victim of tough economic times.  One year ago, Crane Cams was acquired by S&S Cycle, an enthusiast-owned company and manufacturer of an extensive line of V-Twin motorcycle components that has been in business for more than 50 years.

S&S Cycle proudly announces an unprecedented rebirth of the legendary camshaft company Harvey J. Crane founded nearly 60 years ago. We're talking a new Crane Cams location in Daytona Beach with quite the number of Crane associates who have returned to work in a new supercharged company owned by enthusiasts - not investors - which means great products you can trust with technical assistance unmatched because it's all about performance and a passion for power.  These folks know what they're doing and are glad to be doing it.

When S&S Cycle took control of Crane Cams, it began operations by ramping  up first what it knew best - high-quality motorcycle components.  Then, the pursuit of all Crane Cams part numbers and a few new ones, which was a monumental undertaking.  It has taken a year, but Crane Cams is back like never before with extensive research and development facilities including a 50-state emissions certification lab.  What this means for Crane Cams customers is the best, most well thought out cams and valvetrain components in the company's history.  What's more, a complete line of ignition components and accessories from S&S Cycle and Crane Cams Ignition.

Though enthusiasts were shocked by the demise of Crane Cams, they always remained hopeful Crane would back - and who could ever doubt it.  Crane was too good a name to die, and S&S Cycles knew this.  Crane started grinding cams again in January of 2010. By March, it was reestablishing relationships with distributors and dealers.  By May, Crane was back up and running again full steam in a new location.  By October - a new catalog thick with great products and the part numbers you've been searching for.

The good news, overall, for Crane and its customers is that it is back, owned by savvy enthusiasts eager to serve you.  For more information visit Crane's website at www.cranecams.com, or call 866/388-5120 or 386/628-0197.
