The Carroll Shelby Foundation announced the winner of its 2011 Win-A-Shelby Raffle during the Barrett-Jackson Orange County Auction in Costa Mesa, California.

William Munn of Maritez, California, won the coveted '11 GT350, adding a treasure to his garage.

For a ticket price of $25, or $100 for five tickets, participants placed their name in the drawing to win the Shelby car. Proceeds benefited the Carroll Shelby Foundation, which was established by Carroll Shelby to provide financial support for children battling life-threatening illnesses and to promote continuing education.

“I love to share my love of automobiles with others, especially when it helps our charity,” noted Carroll Shelby. “William Munn’s contribution to the Carroll Shelby Foundation will help a child have a second chance at life.”

Munn has donated to the Foundation for years through each of the Win-A-Shelby raffles and intends to continue supporting its endeavors. As a longtime Shelby enthusiast, Munn has rented a Shelby Hertz GT-H many times in the past. He will no longer need to rent a Shelby since he holds the title to his very own ride.

“The Win-A-Shelby drawing is one of our most successful annual fundraisers,” said Jenni Shreeves, executive director of the Carroll Shelby Foundation. “100 percent of the proceeds benefit the Carroll Shelby Foundation, supporting a tremendous number of children. With the help of all those who were part of this raffle, we’ll turn the dreams of so many into reality.”
