The Roush brand has long been synonymous with high horsepower, performance handling, and an aggressive body style. For the 2012, Roush is introducing some game-changing enhancements that will redefine their heritage of high performance and stylish appearance.

2012 Roush RS3 Stage 3

With new ’12 Roush Stage 3 Mustang, the 5.0L 4-valve DOHC TiVCT powerplant has received clearance for takeoff with the addition of the R2300 Roushcharger, force-feeding up to 12psi of intercooled energy to the already robust Coyote engine. The Roushcharger supercharger induction system increases the base horsepower from 412hp to an impressive 540hp and 465 ft/lbs of torque.

A new graphics and appearance package is also part of the RS3. A front fascia blackout gives the nose a menacing look, while the rear decklid blackout features the imprinted signature of Jack Roush. Roush now offers a wide palette of color options for the RS3, with eight choices for the base vehicle color and six stripe and accent colors to offer 288 unique color combinations.

To handle the 540hp, the Roush RS3 comes with larger brake calipers (red or black), Cooper tires on 20-inch Roush wheels (Hyper-Black or chrome), and Roush performance suspension. Performance upgrades include the 6-piston calipers (red only) and a Competition Suspension with double adjustable coil-overs for drivers who want race car-like performance through corners and turns.

The RS3 comes fully-loaded with Roush body components, including a front fascia with driving lights, chin spoiler, side rocker splitters, rear valance, rear deck-lid spoiler, and newly designed square exhaust tips that fit into the Roush rear valance cutouts. Interior enhancements include newly appointed Roush leather seating, four-piece pedals, illuminated sill plates, and Stage 3 badge.

A newly designed shifter ball, in either black or white, showcases the Roush “Square R” logo to indicate the Reverse gear. In addition, the shifter ball’s retaining nut has been redesigned to recess into the shifter ball itself, providing an ergonomic and smooth feel.

As is standard with all new ROUSH Stage 3 Mustangs, the RS3 will come with the anti-wheel hop kit installed during the assembly process.

The Roushcharged ’12 RS3 is currently not available for sale in California and other states requiring CARB emissions standards.

The estimated retail price for the typically equipped ’12 Roush Stage 3 Mustang is around $59,945. Final retail pricing will vary based on options selected. The RS3 is backed by a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty and is currently available with a 6-speed manual transmission only. The ’12 Roush Stage 3 is expected to start appearing on Roush authorized Ford dealer lots by the end of April.
