We realize we’re approaching the middle of winter but don’t put your Mustang away just yet because the annual Ford and Mustang Roundup, hosted by National Parts Depot, is coming up on January 8-9 at the beautiful Silver Springs in Ocala, Florida.
For the past 16 years, the Ford and Mustang Roundup at Silver Springs has been one of the top shows in the southeast, with car counts well above 1,000 vehicles. As always, the first 1,000 registrations are free, including a pair of Saturday and Sunday passes to the Silver Springs park where you can view the show car and take a ride on the famous glass-bottom boats. Go to www.npdlink.com for a registration form.
Before the show, on Friday, January 7, join Mustang Monthly and NPD for a Pony Trails cruise from NPD’s showroom/warehouse (right off I-75) to the fishing village of Cedar Key on the Gulf coast. Participants are encouraged to be fueled up and arrive around 8 AM, with NPD’s Rick Schmidt shooting for a 9:30 drivers meeting and 9:45 departure. The trip takes about 1 ½ hours on the back roads through Ocala’s horse country. At Cedar Key, participants can enjoy lunch on the water at a number of restaurants and check out the local shops. You’re on your own for the return trip, although NPD invites everyone back to the warehouse for a tour of their 140-car collection.
