Installing A Grant Steering Wheel?

Installing a Grant steering and desire superior safety performance?  Here are some points to remember.

Although our suggestions here apply primarily to Grant steering wheel installations, they also pertain to all aftermarket steering wheel installations.  Whenever you install an aftermarket steering, take extra care to think about every phase in great detail.

Every fastener should be torqued to proper specifications and you should use a thread locker on fastener threads for solid security.  Horn switch leads should be wrapped in heat shrink tubing for protection.  Make sure all bolts are installed and tightened before you attempt to move the wheel. With loose fasteners, you risk shearing wires and insulation, which can cause an ugly short circuit.

And finally, when you install turn signal cancellation tension pins, make sure pin breaks are toward the inside to prevent binding and rough operation. Put a dab of white grease on these pins for smooth operation.
