The Mustang, the car that “changed everything’ in the automotive industry, will now contribute to finding a cure for diabetes.

The Joslin Diabetes Center is raffling off a 2009 1/2 Iacocca Silver 45th Anniversary Edition Mustang.  Only 45 were made last year to honor the anniversary of the classic car’s introduction at the 1964 World’s Fair.

The Iacocca Family Foundation, which was created to fund diabetes research, donated the vehicle to Joslin Diabetes Center to support the institution’s work to improve the lives of people with diabetes and its complications through innovative care, education, and research. Proceeds of the raffle will benefit Joslin’s High Hopes Fund.

Raffle tickets can be purchased for $100 at www.joslin.org/iacocca. Only 2,500 will be sold. The drawing will take place at the Joslin High Hopes Gala on November 20, where Joslin will honor members of the Iacocca family.
