Hey! Remember Me? Mustang On A Postage Stamp

Six years ago, the United States Postal Service put Ford's sporty Mustang on a postage stamp - and we were there.

It was a warm, humid summer day in Washington, D.C. in 2004 when we arrived at the United States Postal Service Museum to witness a historic event - Mustang on a postage stamp.  Timing couldn't have been better for Ford Motor Company.  With this gala event came the introduction of Ford's all-new S197 2005 Mustang.

Festivities began at the museum not far from Capitol Hill - then, the party was moved outside Washington to Manassas, Virginia at Battlefield Ford where Mustang enthusiasts from the National Capital Region Mustang Club amassed and celebrated with Jim O'Connor, who was running Ford Division in those days.  O'Connor made one heck of an event out of it, tipping his hat to an American classic - the 1965 Mustang - and the all-new 2005 Mustang, celebrating 40 years of greatness. It was a wonderful time to be alive - paying our respects to a Ford nameplate that has brought us so much.

So what are you doing for the Mustang's 50th Anniversary in 2014?  Time to start making your plans now.
