Years ago, these enlightening Ford Body Engineering images slipped through our mail slot and have been sitting in our archives for quite some time.  Check it out.

Through the years, we've received all kinds of fascinating material from our friends at Ford.  Sometimes, it's a memo that sheds light on a baffling subject.  Other times, it's images that show us how things were done.

These are 1975 Mustang II engine compartment mock-up images that show us how Ford engineers worked through the final stages before these cars went into mass production.  Sometimes, these engine compartment mock-ups were whole car bodies and other times they were just front-end assemblies.  It was also not uncommon for assembly line cars with VINs to be used for mock-ups.

We show you these images because it's so easy to take for granted what finally arrives on showroom floors with not much thought on how it got there.  We'd like to give you insight into what it takes to manufacture a great product.

In the weeks ahead, we're going to show you more from 1979 Mustang development with cool engine compartment mock-ups.  And later on - 1967-69 Mustang engine compartment mock-ups.  Expect to see it all later this year in your Mustang Monthly Magazine.
