Summit Racing Equipment teams up with Beat The Heat to educate drivers on the dangers of street racing and how to live a responsible life.
Street racing is as old as Roman chariots. However, with ever increasing speed and power, it has become dangerous and taken a lot of lives through the years. Summit Racing Equipment, the world's largest speed performance parts supplier, has signed a partnership with Beat The Heat, Inc., which is a non-profit association of police officers and fire safety people dedicated to educating young people to the dangers of street racing, drunk driving, and the use of drugs.
This isn't just about responsible driving, but achieving advanced citizenship - doing the right thing at the wheel and in your life.
Beat The Heat officers appreciate the finer points of fast cars - and many of them own high-performance rides. As a result, they bring their fast cars to schools, car shows, community events, and other places where young people amass to talk about the importance of safety. They stress the importance of demonstrating performance not on the street, but instead on a racetrack where it belongs where it is legal, safer, and controlled.
In 2009, Beat The Heat included approximately 100 chapters in 26 states, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Australia - and that number is growing fast. Beat The Heat members attended some 700 events and talked with thousands of children and teenagers about the perils of illegal street racing, teaching them how to safely race at tracks. Additionally, these professionals stresses the importance of staying in school, the danger of drug and alcohol abuse, stranger danger, and why fire safety is so important.
Jeff Winters, Chief Marketing Officer of Summit Racing Equipment tells Mustang Monthly, "We're proud to team up with Beat The Heat. Summit Racing has been serving the hot rodding community for over 40 years and we understand the importance of enjoying our vehicle safely and responsibly."
