At the recent SEMA Show, a  custom ’70 Mustang built by Grand Touring Garage from North Bend, Oregon, won the 2009 Sony PlayStation Best of Show award.

The award is only given once a year and Kazunori Yamauchi – creator of the Gran Turismo franchise – chose the “Trans-Cammer” from the Hot Rod category as the overall “Best of Show” vehicle.

Yamauchi said, “We have been very pleased with the high quality of vehicles vying for the award the past seven years, and look forward to having this ’70 Mustang  join our list of distinguished past winners.”

Grand Touring Garage built the 427 Cammer-powered Mustang like they have all of their past muscle and classic cars - with attention to every detail. A special crew from Sony will perform their magic to transform the Trans-Cammer into a digital image for the upcoming Gran Turismo 5 driving game due for release in June 2010.

Over the past two decades, Phil Koenen, owner and designer at Grand Touring Garage, has received numerous awards at various Concours and specialty automotive events, including Pebble Beach, Hillsborough, Silverado, Amelia Island, and Santa Barbara.
