Mark Mines of Warren, Ohio wrote to us in May of 1984 with a question about his Acapulco Blue '68 1/2 Cobra Jet fastback - 8F02R182000.

A lot happens in 26 years.  But, we'll ask this question anyway.  Does anyone know where Mark W. Mines of Warren, Ohio is today?  In 1984, he owned 8F02R182000, which was purchased in 1979 from the original owner - Ray J. Orr Jr., who bought it from a Ford dealer in Girard, Ohio.  At the time, it had 15,000 original miles and had never been out in wintertime Ohio weather.

Mark's Cobra Jet was a heater delete car with the 428 Cobra Jet engine, four-speed, 31-spline Detroit Locker, no wipers, trunk-mount battery - typical period NHRA Super Stock racecar.  We do know from the VIN this was a regular production '68 1/2 Cobra Jet fastback likely modified for drag racing from the beginning like a lot of them were.

Does anyone know whatever happened to Mark and this car?  We'd like to hear from you at Jim.Smart@sorc.com.
