Classic Design Concepts is using eBay to auction off its “reproduction” ’67 Mustang, a fastback that CDC built for Ford Motor Company.

The one-off car is an exact copy of a ’67 fastback Mustang using all new components, including a body shell from Dynacorn.

“By using the new reproduction ’67 fastback body, we recreated that American icon, but even better,” said George Huisman, president of Classic Design Concepts. “Each body panel and trim piece is perfect. While sporting a traditional carburetor, the rest of the driveline benefits from 40 years of refinement. It’s like reuniting with a long-lost high school flame, but now she’s even better looking than you remember.”

Using a new CDC reinforced shell from Dynacorn Classic Bodies, and sprayed with a modern interpretation of Ford’s Brittany Blue paint, the car is a brand-new ’67 Mustang GT that features a few modern additions like 4-wheel disc brakes, power rack-and-pinion steering, Currie 9-inch rear axle with 3.70 gears and Trac-Loc, 2 ½-inch stainless dual exhaust with JBA mufflers, Vintage Air A/C and heat, premium stereo with iPod capability, Fox-body Mustang seats with retro styled TMI covers.

Under the hood beats a Ford Racing Boss 347 crate engine with Tremec TKO600 5-speed manual transmission. The pony car pumps out an impressive 450hp with a torque rating of 400 ft. lbs.

“We paid meticulous attention to detail in building this car with all-new reproduction parts, including the wiring and fasteners,” added Huisman. “The goal was to make it look as original as possible, while adding a few modern conveniences. Gaps between body panels are nearly perfect, and the fit and finish are fantastic. The Brittany Blue paint is unbelievable, with an original cost of approximately $20,000 alone.”

The car spent nearly a year on tour with Ford Racing Performance Parts visiting various events and cities across the country. Ford Racing exhibited it at SEMA, the 2009 Detroit Autorama, the Mustang 45th Anniversary Celebration in Birmingham, and the 2008 Mid America Ford & Team Shelby Nationals in Tulsa. At the end of its nationwide tour, it was returned to CDC. The vehicle has been featured in various Mustang enthusiast magazines, including the cover of Mustang Monthly’s November 2007 edition.

“Driving this beautiful blue Mustang is better than finding one trapped in a time capsule,” notes Huisman. “We brought back a little old-school flavor with a modern twist that’s pure magic.”

MS67FB061204TW is the serial number on the car but it has never been titled. However, all of the documentation necessary to title and register the vehicle in most states will be provided.  Based on the work of the SEMA Action Network, there are currently 19 states that have passed legislation allowing you to title these specially constructed vehicles as the year they most closely resemble, 1967. The remaining states will require the vehicle to be titled with the year that they are registered, 2009.
