Editorial Blunders are embarrassing... Time for us to make this one right. Los Angeles was not the first ever West Coast Mustang Club of America National Show - Concord, California was...
Ever had words you wish you could take back with everything you have? That's how we feel in the wake of MCA Goes To LA in the December issue of Mustang Monthly. In that article, we said, "Heat and smoke from wild fires didn't hinder spirits at the Mustang Club of America's first-ever West Coast National Show..."
Well, Virginia, this just ain't true. The "heat and smoke part" is spot on. It was hot and it was smoky - and these elements didn't keep anyone from coming to Los Angeles. "First-ever West Coast National Show..." distinction, however, goes to the San Francisco Bay Area and the community of Concord located between Sacramento and San Francisco/Oakland.
On behalf of Mustang Monthly Magazine, I'd like to apologize to the Bay Area folks for overlooking Concord, which enjoyed a huge turnout where everyone had a good time in one of the most charming California treasures. It is our hope the MCA comes back to the Bay Area because these folks put on one heck of a show that, unfortunately, wasn't sufficiently covered by the media. We will do better next time.
And one more thing - there is no such thing as the "Mustang Owners Club of America". This was a production error that happened somewhere between editorial and the art department. Photos were shot by members of the Mustang Owners Club of California when I took ill with Swine Flu on Day 1 of the show. My humble apologies to everyone concerned.
