Dr. John Craft authors fresh and exciting Bud Moore biography honoring this Mustang racing legend.

If you've been reading Ford and NASCAR related books for any time at all, you're undoubtedly familiar with Dr. John Craft who has been authoring automotive books and magazine articles for a quarter century.  Though John is a terrific writer, his primary profession isn't writing at all - but instead law.  He's a federal prosecutor in the great state of Texas.

When John isn't practicing law, he's a passionate automotive historian who has written a lot of books.  In more recent times, he burned a lot of midnight oil researching and writing a cool hard cover biography on stock car racing legend Bud Moore.  It is required reading you won't want to miss.

When you crack open this crispy hard cover coffee table book, it's mighty hard to put down.  Although I've never following stock car racing closely, reading about Bud Moore makes me understand what I've missed.  Craft has not only researched Moore's life, he was there to see it first hand in 1965 when his father took him to his first Daytona 500.  It was then John became quickly obsessed with stock car racing.  John owes the heated passion to his father, Martin Clark Craft, who introduced him to this sport some 44 years ago.

Bud Moore - Man and Machine chronicles Moore's life from its very beginnings on May 25, 1925.  It looks at his service to country in World War II, followed by a long and illustrious career as a racecar builder, racer, and businessman.  It begins with a steamy fascination for fast cars, moonshine, and all the elements that go with them.  Moore was there to watch NASCAR unfold at its very back woods beginnings with its founder, the late Bill France.  What has followed has been a lifelong career spanning more than a half century of extraordinary performance in not just stock car racing, but Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) competition in some of its hottest years.  Moore has touched racing in more ways than we have room to mention here.  Suffice it to say Craft's book is an excellent read if you're a Bud Moore fan - and even if you're not.
