 Remembering the first Team Mustang.

We found this image at Ford Photographic years ago and thought we'd share it with you.  Talk about being on top of the world?  This is the first Team Mustang in a photo taken sometime in 1964-65.  We don't know what the occasion was, but we do know what the result was - Mustang Mania that has managed to last nearly a half century.  Nice work, Gentlemen...

That's Ford Division General Manager, Lee Iacocca on the right (left) along with his sidekick, Donald Frey (right).  On the left are key players in the car's success.  Among them, Donald Petersen, who would later run Ford in the 1980s; and Hal Sperlich, who made great contributions to Ford's success, and later the minivan at Chrysler under Iacocca.  We are unable to identify the rest at this time.  Lee Iacocca lives in Los Angeles today.  Donald Frey calls Chicago home at this time.  If anyone knows how to reach Donald Petersen and Hal Sperlich, please email us here at www.mustangmonthly.com.
