We were presented with a challenge recently - how to get a couple of alternators and a starter rebuilt and get our original components back.  That's when Garrett Marks of Mustangs Etc. in Van Nuys, California refered us to CAE, Inc. Quality Remanufactured Alternators & Starters.  CAE, Inc. is an automotive electrical shop that specializes in starters, alternators, and generators.

When we arrived at CAE with two 1965 vintage Mustang alternators and a starter, we were greeted by Bob Antounian who runs the shop.  He showed us around his shop, which has been family owned and operated since 1955.  CAE is a gold nugget right in the heart of Southern California's San Fernando Valley because it does outstanding work at a fair price.  Define fair?  It depends on what kind of rebuild you desire.  If you desire a concours restoration, it's going to cost you more, but not that much more - in fact competitive with the discount auto stores and you get your original parts back.

CAE will build your alternator, generator, or starter anyway you desire.  They do powdercoating and chroming.  All you have to do is tell them what you want.  Although our fans and pulleys were done in satin black, correct for 1965, CAE also does cad' plating for those of you who prefer cad'.

Each alternator, generator, or starter is disassembled and carefully inspected. Components are tested and replaced as necessary.  This is a genuine auto electric shop because they have the wherebys to rebuild subassemblies.  And anything that's real far gone is replaced with new.
