For many years, retired Ford employee Lois Eminger rescued Ford invoices and offered them to owners of Mustangs, Thunderbirds, and other Ford vehicles.
After Lois’ death last year, Kevin Marti at Marti Autoworks acquired the invoices and has now reorganized the files to make them once again available to owners. They are offered alongside Marti’s Ford production database service (Marti Reports).
The invoices are the original documents that were used by Ford for billing to dealers. They contain the vehicle’s complete option list and, generally, the wholesale and retail costs along with option and shipping costs. Other information includes the original selling dealer, trim code, invoice preparation date, and other data. In cases where the original invoice was sold previously, a copy of the original invoice may be available.
Invoices are available for many ’69-’73 Mustangs, primarily those built at the Dearborn assembly plant (VIN code F) with some ’70s from the Metuchen (code T) assembly plant also available. Some ’79-’86 Mustang invoices are offered as well. Prices range from $44 for a standard Mustang to $60 for Boss cars. Invoices for ’68-’70 Shelbys, which includes the work order, are $120.
