There are plenty of books that tell the Mustang story, but John Clor’s The Mustang Dynasty adds behind-the-scenes details you won’t find in other volumes.
As a former communications manager for Ford’s Special Vehicle Team and the current manager for The Ford Performance Group website www.fordperformance.com, Clor had access to Ford insiders who worked on the Mustang during its storied 45-year history. The Forward was written by Hau Thai-Tang, former Mustang Chief Engineer.
The book tells the story behind every Mustang generation, from the original ’64 ½ to the new Shelby GT500. Instead of rehashing production information, Clor highlights some of the more compelling tales surrounding the Mustang’s development. Best of all, in addition to over 150 Ford photos, the book includes 15 removable reproductions of Mustang collectibles, including a ’65 Owner’s Manual, a ’79 Indy Pace Car bumper sticker, and an ‘03 Mach 1 logo patch. An audio CD of Mustang engine sounds is also part of the package.
The first printing of The Mustang Dynasty sold out in 12 weeks, so Clor has updated the last chapter to include the ’09 model year for a special limited run of a 45th Anniversary Edition. The hardbound book is available for $29.95 through Clor's website at www.mustangdynasty.com.
