Scott Drake Enterprises and the Mustang Club of America have announced details of a new "Pay it Forward" promotion, which gives MCA clubs across the country the opportunity to restore a ’66 convertible and donate its auction proceeds to a charity of their choice.

"Drake Automotive shares a passion with vintage Mustang owners who love to work on their cars and also to give back to their community," noted Scott Drake, president and CEO of Scott Drake Enterprises. "Working with the Mustang Club of America, we’ll give one regional club the chance to rescue a ’66 Mustang and designate a deserving charity to benefit from their handiwork."

For the promotion, Scott Drake will donate a ’66 convertible project car and $10,000 in parts. For the opportunity to restore the car, MCA chapters must write in to explain why the car should be provided to their club for restoration and also select a charity. Scott Drake will present the car to the club at the Mustang 45th Anniversary Celebration on April 17-19 in Birmingham. Using club members and resources, the chapter will then restore the Mustang with a goal of debuting the completed car in Scott Drake’s SEMA display in November 2009. Later, the car will be auctioned with the proceeds going to the charity selected by the winning MCA chapter.

In 2007, Scott Drake sponsored a special "Payback" Mustang for Bala Palaygi, his former high school teacher (see "The Payback," May 2008 Mustang Monthly, page 66). In appreciation for his encouragement and support, Drake restored Palaygi’s ‘65 Mustang and presented it to him during the SEMA Show.
