On October 5 at the Beach Cities Mustang Club’s Mustangs at the Queen Mary car show, Chad McQueen signed autographs as part of the West Coast Bullitt Nationals.
McQueen requested that his appearance fee be donated to the Boy Republic, an at-risk youth program his father, Steve McQueen, supported for many years.
Young and old lined up to meet and take pictures with McQueen. Beach Cities Mustang Club made a donation of $1,000 to the Boy’s Republic on behalf of McQueen. He also signed dashes in lieu of a donation to his charity, raising an additional $600.
In addition to his appearance, McQueen also brought his ’01 Bullitt Mustang #0001 and his ’08 Bullitt Mustang #0001. Unique Transport Service offered to transport the cars from McQueen’s beach home in the Malibu area. Terry from UTS reported, "I waited at the gate for Chad to bring one of his cars down to the transporter. All of the sudden, all I noticed was a loud roar and smoke trail in the air as Chad slid the car down the driveway and up onto the trailer. He can sure drive!"
