Kevin Marti has done it again. His Mustang's by the Numbers book answered many of the production questions about '67-'73 Mustangs.

Now, with The Mustang and Cougar Tagbook, Kevin unlocks the codes for the various tags found on '65-'73 Mustangs, including the previously mysterious buck tags that can provide much information about a car's factory options. While some of the information, like VIN and door date plate coding, has been available previously, its inclusion in the Mustang and Cougar Tagbook helps make the book a complete guide to Mustang codes. Best of all, the book reveals much never-before-published information, the result of 20 years of research by Kevin, about Ownercards, trim and paint codes, build sheets, and various tags found on carburetors, transmissions, and rearends. Did you know that the '66 Ownercard plates were originally part of the door data plate stamping? That type of background information, plus the actual decoding information, makes The Mustang and Cougar Tagbook one of the most important books ever published about Mustangs, especially if you're looking to authenticate a Mustang and its original equipment.

The book is available for $30 plus $6 shipping from Marti Autoworks, 12007 W. Peoria Ave., El Mirage, AZ 85335; 623/935-2558; www.martiautoworks.com. It's also available from many Mustang parts vendors.
