Due to possible construction delays at the brand-new Thunderbolt Raceway, the Shelby American Automobile Club has moved its national convention back from its traditional Fourth of July weekend to August 15-17.
Two primary circuits are being built at the complex, located near Millville, New Jersey. The longer 2.25-mile circuit may not be completed by the end of June, so the club has elected to postpone SAAC-33 for five weeks to make sure the larger track is available, along with its amenities, like 40 acres of paddock parking and Roller Suites, which provide garage space for two cars and overnight accommodations.
