Roush Performance has upped the ante once again with its new 427R Mustang Roush Performance has upped the ante once again with its new 427R Mustang, a Roush-enhanced model with 427 horsepower, the most ever offered in any version of the Roush Mustang. Based on the Roush Stage 3 Mustang, the 427R contains slightly less content but adds to the fun factor with an intercooled ROUSHcharger system, which adds 115 horsepower and 65 lb-ft of torque to the base Ford 4.6L, 3-valve powertrain. The additional power comes via a Roush-engineered ECM calibration that is specially-tuned to work in harmony with the different exhaust system used on the 427R. Adding to the style of the ‘07 Roush 427R is a four-piece aerobody kit that includes a stylized front fascia, front chin spoiler, hood scoop, and rear wing, along with special striping and Roush 18-inch chrome wheels with high-performance tires. The sports-tuned suspension includes front struts, rear shocks, springs, sway bars, and jounce bumpers. Each component was designed for both comfort and performance by Roush engineers. Authenticating the vehicle are special Roush fender badges, decklid emblem, serialized engine compartment plate, and a Roush engine build plaque engraved by the technician who upgraded the car in Roush’s Livonia, Michigan, facility.
